Introducing Sweet Share: Transforming the Future of Type 1 Diabetes Advocacy
In a world where over 1.25 million Americans live with type 1 diabetes (T1D), the need for innovative solutions and dedicated advocacy is more critical than ever. Today, we are thrilled to introduce Sweet Share, a pioneering nonprofit organization that leverages strategic investment and corporate engagement to make a significant impact on the lives of those affected by T1D. Our mission is to bridge the gap between advocacy and real-world solutions, ensuring a brighter future for individuals living with this chronic condition.
The Vision Behind Sweet Share
Sweet Share was born from a simple yet profound vision: to create a world where type 1 diabetes no longer hinders anyone’s ability to lead a full and healthy life. After years of studying T1D and working as an advocate with organizations like the American Diabetes Association and T1International, our founder, Dr. Michael Gambrel, recognized the need for a fresh approach to diabetes advocacy.
There are a lot of great organizations that further the causes of the T1D community. These organizations further research, education, and advocate for those affected by T1D in the United States and around the world. While this work is imperative, the T1D community needs a voice in the organizations and a seat at the table with the decision-makers. This is where Sweet Share steps in. As a shareholder in these companies, Sweet Share can exercise its rights to advocate for organizational policies that are in the best interest of the T1D community.
The Future for Sweet Share
As an officially formed nonprofit, we have applied for 501(c)(3) status. Our next steps are to begin fundraising to purchase the shares in organizations that we need to become voting shareholders and bring the T1D community’s voice to these companies. That’s where you can come in!
Please consider giving to Sweet Share to help us in our mission. Every gift adds to our ability to purchase shares and begin making changes in how the corporate world affects our community. Just as important, we hope you share our mission and encourage those you know to give. Together we will make sure that your voices are heard by the companies that impact all of our lives.
